Rationale Behind the Designs
I wanted to explore the idea of a fitness and science podcast, bridging popular exercise trends with the research behind them. My goal is to create a podcast that inspires listeners to live healthier while explaining how fitness impacts our bodies.
The sound design captures the lively energy of fitness with sounds like heartbeats and pouring water, while upbeat background music keeps the vibe positive and engaging.
For the album art, I chose a vibrant image of someone enjoying a fitness activity. The bright colors and dynamic lines reflect strength and vitality, and the bold, modern text aligns with the podcast’s fresh approach. I hope it gets everyone excited about this journey!

Hi Sinbad, great job on your podcast. Your cover art is very attention grabbing, and I liked your clever use of the round text bubble to contrast with the rest of the photo. It drew my eyes to the title and clearly indicates the subject of the podcast. Your idea to combine fitness and science makes the podcast appealing, especially to fact/logic-driven individuals. To have even greater appeal, it might be effective to add science-related graphics in this image to visually tie the theme together, outside of the text. I like that you contrasted two different background songs in this clip; it took me on a listening journey!
Some technical problems I noticed: Your vocal narration is fuzzy, and I can hear a bit of background noise in the room. Your voice also distorts and peaks a bit when you talk louder. Unfortunately, the heartbeat sounds have distorted completely, which made it difficult to focus on the rest of the podcast. I listened to the original clip on Freesound and it isn’t distorted there, so I suspect the volume might have been increased too high during production. When the original clip is turned up louder, I hear some background noise, which probably contributed to the overall fuzziness. Lastly, I noticed that you hyperlinked your media files under each creator’s name instead of the file’s name – I think the file hyperlink should be attached to the file name, while the creator’s general profile/website still needs to be hyperlinked separately.
Hey Sinbad,
Your podcast idea for Rationale Behind the Designs sounds like a cool concept! I like the idea of blending fitness trends with the science behind them, especially with how much misinformation is out there. The sound design choices, like heartbeats and pouring water, are very creative, however they suffer from some technical difficulties. The heartbeat sounds were very loud and distorted, with made it so that I could not focus on anything else you were saying. Similarly, your voice came through muffled or distorted in several sections. That being said, I like the vibrant colors and dynamic feel of your thumbnail; definitely match the strength and vitality you’re highlighting.
Hey Sinbad, your concept for your podcast is one that I think would be very popular. Fitness is the main thing in a lot of people’s lives, and to hear about the science behind them will intrigue a large audience. The audio doesn’t blend seamlessly together; I believe it is due to having all clips at full volume. I did enjoy the choices you made when it came to which music and sound effects; it’s just the audio levels needed to be fixed. Other than those audio difficulties, the cover art you chose was spot on. The title pops out just right to draw your attention.
