For this assignment, I knew I had to base it on my favorite dinosaur, so I chose an image of a Tyrannosaurus Rex from Dave Catchpole that perfectly captures the dinosaur’s fierce and powerful presence. To enhance this image, I paired it with the audio clip “dinosaur-roar.wav” by soundmast123, which adds an extra layer of intensity to the experience. The roar makes the image more dynamic and amplifies the feeling of being right next to this massive creature. Together, the image and audio transform what would have been just a visual into an immersive adventure; I imagine you’re in the Cretaceous, almost as if you’re standing in the path of this mighty apex predator. It is truly a sight to behold.

Hey Sinbad! The dinosaur image and audio are a cool choice – it totally reminds me of Jurassic Park! The audio really brings the picture to life by letting us hear a dinosaur roar. To create a more fearful mood, you might consider pairing the image with a tenser audio effect. However, since the image itself isn’t very intimidating, an amusement park sound effect, similar to what you might hear at a Jurassic Park attraction, could work well. Overall, great job with your post this week. I don’t think I’ve heard a sample of a dinosaur roar in a couple of years now.
Hi Sinbad! Great choice of dinosaur! Fortunately for me, the closest thing I’ve had to an encounter with a dinosaur has been on the Jurassic Park River Adventure in Universal Studios. The dinosaurs and special effects evoke about as much fear as your pairing (not much) but we’ve got to work with what we’ve got! Since the object of your photo seems to be a toy, rather than a realistic illustration of a T-Rex, I wonder how experiencing the image would change were it paired with an audio of children playing, or as Heather suggested, theme park music! I also wonder how dinosaur sound samples are made, and how we could possibly guess what a dinosaur sounded like.
Hey Sinbad!
My initial reaction is that dinosaurs are always cool, it’s an engaging topic and evokes emotions in many people. The audio aligns exactly with the photo and does add to the intensity of the photo. Separately I think the the photo and the audio you selected could convey the same meaning, the power and intensity of the T-Rex and the joy of learning all about these fierce creatures as children. For me the audio doesn’t alter or transform the photo, but it does certainly enhance it. I would look for audio that can transform it, I like the idea of kids playing that Liv had, or a song that reminds you of childhood or is about childhood. You could write about what the song means to you and what that T-Rex means to you when you see it outside of a really cool dinosaur.
Thanks!
