Hi Lena,
Perfect text-photo pairing! From this article, I would expect to see some kind of schooling within the paired image. It’s evident that the student is engaging in some kind of elementary arithmetic, which connects back to the article.
I think it’s so cool that you found a font that looks like chalk. Although we were discouraged from using the more “decorative” fonts, I really like how it looks here. And instead of making it white, you matched the shade of green in the chalkboard. The body text is clearly a different font (thank you for not using the chalk font again, haha) and I think they work well together.
For the body text, I would recommend cutting down how much of it is on the page. The same idea could have been communicated with the first two or three sentences. The student is in grade school so the part about technical and professional education seems ill-fitting for the photo. Aside from that, it’s really great!
Lena, education is such an important human right that people usually take for granted and I think it’s awesome that you decided to choose this one to highlight just how important it is. The image-article pairing is great and you even found a font that looks like chalk and only enhances the image. This is a great example of using typography to tell a story/convey a message. The text is centered and easy to read, and I don’t think there’s anything I would’ve done differently here. Very well done!
