Have you ever wondered that the night sky is the original state of the universe? The morning sky we see is because of the medium-sized star we revolve around. The universe has been always my favorite thing to learn about. I found Darkriver by Hypatia Alexandria a perfect way to show how beautiful the universe looks like. I have always been a fan of sci-fi movies so I was searching for a soundtrack that could fit in to show how intense the universe is. The Jet Fueled Vixen by Kevin MacLeod soundtrack blends completely with the picture. The deep bass in the soundtrack makes you feel like you are an astronaut in a spaceship looking out of the window and seeing the ocean of stars. That’s the reason I believe this soundtrack goes well with the picture.
Hi Pritish! I was very taken aback when I hit play on the audio. The title of the blog lulled me into a false sense of security, and I was expecting something much like the children’s song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. However, that’s not to say I don’t think the audio and visual don’t go together. I viewed the image and listened to the audio before I read your blog post, and once I readjusted (lol), I knew exactly what you had intended with this combination. I got a National Geographic-inspired, infinite universe vibe from the two together. I can also feel the sci-fi (ness) that you mentioned in your blog with this combination. Alone, both the image and audio give you a sense of vastness, but they truly compliment each other. I’m learning that when you merge audio and visuals together, it really does create an experience that separately they wouldn’t. My only suggestion would be to proofread once more before submitting. The caption of the audio has some extra words.
Hi Pritish! The music and image you paired are definitely atmospheric! The image reminds me of something taken by a telescope in deep space and sent back to earth; it surprised me to find out it’s actually a picture taken from Earth of the Milky Way! It also made me think of a movie scene of an astronaut on their next voyage to Mars or another unexplored destination and the music that would be playing in the background as we see their view of space; it’s dark and dangerous or maybe even a little bit haunted. The music helps tie in the danger and create suspense; I can imagine hearing the same type of music being played as an intro to an action sequence in a superhero movie. If you had chosen a more standard, space-soundtrack for your image, like something played at a planetarium, it would have created a completely different effect. Your pairing does a great job of creating an atmosphere of suspense.
Hi Pritish! I get what you mean by the effect the bass has when putting this sound with the image. It gives the song a vastness like you are in the center of that galaxy. I think the image also has this intensity with the colors of the galaxy in the image. It has almost an evil essence especially when paired with your song choice. If I were to take this in a different creative direction I would pair the image with a song you’d find in a music box. Something gentle and calm that would juxtapose the intense power of the galaxy you showed.
Hello Pritish! I love all things regarding the universe so I was very intrigued by your post. The audio that you chose gave off a euphoric vibe, one that is upbeat which made for a great pair when I was reading along your text. No image from the universe is alike, and I believe that each one has its characteristics. I like looking at the colors that pop out. I see that you mentioned you are a fan of sci-fi movies, what’s your favorite? I also am a fan of that genre!
