My name is Tianhao Liang, and I’m delighted to share my story with you! I come from Shenyang, a city in China known for its snowscapes. Two years ago, I embarked on an adventure, a significant leap from the familiar streets of Shenyang to the diverse environment of the United States. Here, I pursued my graduate study in Media and Communication. It’s hard to believe how quickly these two years have flown by, and now I find myself in the final semester of this incredible journey.
To fulfill my dream of becoming a filmmaker, I have continuously honed my skills in video production and gained an internship as a video editor at LA Weekly Asia. Recently, my documentary Golden Boy and TV show Star Chasing were shortlisted in three film festivals. This recognition is meaningful to me – it’s a validation of my efforts and a sign that my dream of becoming a filmmaker isn’t as distant as it once seemed.
My biggest passions are photography and vlogging. I often take my Nikon z7 ii to capture moments of my friends and landscapes. My friends even call me “Best Friend Photographer.” Additionally, I have a habit of documenting my life as an international student in the U.S., because I believe revisiting these videos in a few years will be exciting!
Crafting my own stories and blogs in the LIS5313: Digital Media: Concepts and Production class is quite attractive to me!
I am eager to delve deeper into web design, a field that is both novel and fascinating to me. Additionally, I believe it’s essential to gain a thorough understanding of copyright issues before I graduate.

I’m ready to embark on this media journey.
Join me on this adventure!
Hi, Tianhao Liang! Was that first photo taken in Shenyang? It is interesting that it is known for its snowscapes; does it snow there most of the year? It is so exciting that you have been and are actively working in the field that is your passion: filmmaking. Do you have an active vlog? I would love to check it out. It makes sense why this class would be interesting for you. You might already know how to do some of the activities!
Hi Tianhao! First of all, I love how you divided up the sections of this post; it made it very digestible and neat! I’d also like to echo Annelise about the vlogging, yours sound like they would be fascinating! I recently started vlogging as a way of connecting with my sister, who moved a few hours away.
Your background in filmmaking is very cool! I’m coming into this class from the library side of things, so I’m looking forward to learning from your posts/project, as you seem very talented in this area already!
Hello Tianhao, it’s so great to meet you. What an interesting post! I am impressed by not only your film-making background but also your determination and bravery to leave your home and move to the United States. It is no small endeavor to move to a new country, and you took the leap and did it in order to follow your dreams. I am interested to learn more about your home in Shenyang and what it’s like to grow up there. Best of luck to you as you complete your studies!
Hi Tianhao! Congrats on being close to graduation, and being brave enough to come from your home in China all the way to America to fulfill your dream of being a filmmaker. What made you decide on the graduate programs from FSU? Do you have family or friends here in the United States? I hope you aren’t here all by yourself! I’m excited about your filmmaking achievements so far. It seems you are well on your way toward achieving your goals, and I hope you’ll share any news or updates on the progress of getting your movie or TV show out to a wider audience. I also enjoy taking pictures, but the camera on my phone seems to work well enough when my subject is just my dog. The professional camera you have looks amazing! I look forward to seeing photos and videos you have created as we move through this semester together, and I’ll be following you as a fan in your career after graduation.
