To introduce myself, this is my last semester as a grad student here at FSU. After I graduate I plan on working for FWC as a law enforcement officer in Miami, Florida. I currently am a manager at Bullwinkle’s saloon. I really enjoy working there and have been able to learn a lot for my future. With knowing how to lead, work with customers, and how to do manager work.

I grew up in Miami, Florida, and came to FSU as a freshman in 2017 and graduated as an undergraduate in 2021. I have learned a lot while at FSU and took many different classes and meet many different things.
I am also a volunteer Firefighter in South Dakota at the Silver City Volunteer Fire Department I have been a firefighter for two years now and has also been a very been a good experience for my future.

Welcome Matthew!
You certainly have a lot on your plate! Being a manager of a saloon while also being a volunteer firefighter is a great deal of work on its own, not to mention that you also are attending college online. It’s cool that law enforcement is going to bring back to Miami, but I think one thing that I’m missing from this post is how this class connects to law enforcement. What was your undergrad degree in and what is your graduate degree in? That is, what brings you to this class? I guess I assumed we were all LIS students, but then you know what they say about assuming.
So with that, what’s your major?
I have a minor in Law Enforcement operations and a Bachelor’s in IT I am in grad school right now as a backup for not getting into FWC and having a master in a state job gets me a higher pay. I also really enjoy IT.
Hi Matthew!
Congratulations on your last semester at FSU! I have heard a lot about FWC and how important they are. I am sure you will be a great asset to them! Bullwinkle’s saloon looks like a really fun place. It’s great that you’ve had a good time there and were able to pick up skills and knowledge you will need moving forward in your career. I have never been to South Dakota, but from what you posted it looks like you are gaining valuable experience from your time there!
I hope this class helps in your future endeavors!
