Hi Taylor! I must say, I really, really like the image that you created. The color you chose for the background box behind the text blends nicely with the color of the little girl’s shirt. It is also not too opaque and not too translucent with just the right amount of the image being shown behind. This also works nicely for the text to pop. The fonts you chose work well together and mostly everything looks equidistant. The only spacing I questioned was the bottom bit under the blue box. It may just be a tad bit off when compared to the top but by like a super tiny amount or my eyes are being fooled. The right side space looks smaller as well when compared to the top and the bottom. I like how the article 13 font is a bolder font to the main text and I also thought it was really clever how you added the United Nations and Declaration of Human Rights to top and bottom. That font looks slightly serif but it’s so small it doesn’t clash with anything. The photo you chose is also very fitting for the topic and the little girl is nicely placed using the rule of thirds. Overall, I think you did an excellent job with this image!
Hi Taylor!
I like the composition of this image. Pulling the blues from the image was an excellent idea. I think that the “United Nations” and “Declaration of Human Rights” uses really nice text; however, it can be hard to read with thin text. Using a serif font for those texts emphasizes diplomacy and legality, which adds to the importance of the image. The body of the text has a nice legible weight, and I appreciate it not being a serif font, as it might make the image feel less personable. I wished there was more context for this image. I think context might emphasize that this girl is in peril or that she is fleeing/returning to her country. Without it, it feels like she’s a person of color that needs saving.
