I couldn’t help but look for a picture of a beach because I am currently dreaming of…a vacation! I am planning a trip to Tobago with my family, the first weekend in March, because I soon will not be able to go on a plane due to my pregnancy. I think a bit of a respite would be nice before the big day.
I couldn’t find a true picture of a Tobago beach but the water is at least similar in color. Honestly, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if it wasn’t for the caption. Initially, I thought typical Caribbean music would have paired nicely with this but it was too cliche. Instead, I decided to focus on another aspect of this picture which was the lush vegetation surrounding the beach. Where there are trees you’re bound to hear birds and this audio was quite relaxing to hear while looking at the serene turquoise water.
Hi Maya, my general reaction to this is wow! I really loved how you tied everything in together and I also like the visual aspects of your text block, it looks great! When looking at the image separate from the audio I immediately think of a vacation in paradise, and then when listening to the audio separate from an image I imagine waking up on a summers day to the birds chirping away outside. When pairing them together I see the other side of paradise, like the actual jungle of the beach and what takes place inside of it. It makes you almost want to explore. Typically with this image I would have paired it with Caribbean music like you said, or the sound of waves crashing. Because the picture in my opinion focused more on the beach i would have liked to hear maybe some audio of maybe some ocean creatures, seagulls, or splashing.
Hi Jessica, I loved your picture and sound combination. Before reading your post, I listened to the sound and looked at the photo and thought that the combination of the two were so peaceful. When looking at the photo on its own that is not the first sounds that I would think of. I immediately think of the waves hitting the beach. When you add your sounds in, I then start to focus on the surrounding forest and the creatures that may be living in the forest and enjoying the tropical beach each day. You mentioned in your post that you were thinking of adding Caribbean music to your picture. I think that would also be a great sound for this picture. It would really transport you right to the beach and make you feel like you were on a tropical getaway!
