Latasha. I was born and raised in Tallahassee and it is the only place I have ever lived. Sad I know, lol. I would like to travel and visit all 50 states one day, experiencing what each state has to offer. I would like to do something like diners, dives, and drive-ins because my family and I like to eat. The one place that is on my bucket list is to visit the “world’s first underwater villa.” at the Rangali Island Resort in the Maldives. I am working on my degree in MSIT graduating this spring. I decided to get my Master’s after my mom passed as I told her I would do it, with that GRE being waived, made it easy to finally do it. I worked for the state of Florida for the past 20 years, but with this degree, I will finally look to leave for greener pastures. I love sports, especially the Lakers and video games.
One of the things I am excited about learning in this class is the final project. I am really curious as to what I come up with.
This is a picture of my mom and me. I think I look just like her but my sister begs to differ.

Hello Latasha, I love the way you opened up with your title, it immediately grabbed my attention and I wanted to read more about who you are. I see you said that you are born and raised in Tallahassee your whole life, and that you wish to travel all 50 states one day. Have you ever been outside of Florida? or traveled anywhere outside of any states that border Florida? I am also love to eat, although I wish I would be willing to try more things with food sometimes. Listing some of your favorite types of foods I think is a good idea to potentially engage in some conversation starters. We all have to eat right? 🙂 I love that you stated that you were doing your masters because you made a promise which shows great integrity, because you could have decided not to do it. I think you did a great job of putting your interest and things you liked. great intro!
Hello Latasha!
Not sad to have stayed in Tallahassee! I was born and raised in Tallahassee too and haven’t lived anywhere else! I love the idea about traveling to all 50 states, especially the eating part of making it like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I love that show and finding local places wherever you travel is always a fun way to get to know a city. You said you worked for the state of Florida, which department did you work for? I’ve worked for Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. That picture of you and your Mom is so great. She’s beautiful. The GRE waiver definitely has made it so much easier for people to do programs like that, I almost wish they’d do away with it permanently for some programs. I’m very excited to take this class with you and I hope you enjoy the final project! It’ll be exciting to see what everyone does!
This underwater villa looks AMAZING – so like Atlantis?!! Never been to the FSU campus yet as a student, so hope to remedy that when I graduate and spend a week or so there!
