Weekend Meats is a podcast for the meat enthusiast wanting to elevate their cooking skills or simply wanting to learn a variety of cooking techniques. Each month we find different chefs or grill masters to teach us the ways of the meat world. Today, we are learning how to reverse sear a steak with the time ole method of sous vide.
This podcast includes voice (spoken word), sound effects, and music. The introduction sound effects are faded in and prepare the listener for what we are about to do that include filling up a pot with water and searing a steak. For a smooth transition, the sound effects are faded out while voice is then faded in to further describe the podcast and specific episode. The reverse happens at the end with audio clips of knife sharpening and plate placing as the listener would do after following along. Throughout the whole clip, I included light jazz with reduced gains to play quietly in the background.

Austin I loved your podcast and left me wanting that steak in the picture! The sounds are spot on with the sizzling and the plate and even the sound of the knife. I’m curious to learn this method of searing a steak so I will be doing some searching on this topic on my own. The jazz and the low voice along with the sound effects really made your podcast not only visually appealing but alluring to my ears.
Thanks for a very enjoyable podcast, Austin. I could imagine myself sitting in a restaurant watching chefs prepare steak, which made me crave a bite. The sizzling sounds, the plate, and even the knife fit perfectly with your podcast’s theme. The jazz, vocals, and sound effects really made the podcast enjoyable to listen to and created a mellow atmosphere. It’s the kind of podcast I love to listen to unwind. You also chose an excellent image and a great typeface.
However, I felt the fonts could have been brighter or different. The voice in the audio was also rather dull and could have been bubblier.
