Hey Christie,
At the start of the video, paired with the tone of the song, I initially thought it might be a love story. As the song went on, though, the meaning came across as more political. For example, the coffee cup spilling felt like a metaphor, while the scenes of people protesting took a more literal approach. You might consider focusing on one style (either symbolic or direct) to make the message feel even stronger and more cohesive.
The song itself is quite bold and clear, but some of the images—like the nature shots—didn’t connect as much for me with the main theme. On the other hand, the scenes of people helping and supporting each other really stood out. Those moments felt genuine and visually reinforced the idea of “love in action.”
The pacing also feels a bit steady throughout. Since the song is slower (around 72 bpm), that consistent image timing may be contributing to a sense of monotony. You did vary the timing in places, which helps, but maybe experimenting a bit more with rhythm or movement could bring extra energy.
Overall, great effort, and I’m looking forward to seeing how your style progresses for the final project.
Sorry, about the name… Kristi**
Thanks, Kenneth. This is my first time doing anything like this, and I was trying to ramp up the images as the song progressed. I will say that, per the songwriter, this is 130bpm.
