You’re Doing Great! is a parenting podcast that celebrates the ups and downs of the daily life of parenting and reminds parents that it’s about love and not perfection. This podcast will offer tips for parents to use, or disregard, (totally their preference, we’re not pushing anything), from groups of parents who want to share their life hacks with others. It will also showcase stories of everyday parenting, from the oh-no moments of “Your Kid Did What?! to the awe moments of “Isn’t That The Best?!”. The goal of You’re Doing Great is a fun, down-to-earth weekly podcast that will allow parents (expecting parents, grandparents, or friends of parents) to enjoy, laugh a little, and maybe even shed a happy tear. The podcast series will feature everyday parents in conversation with each other, and sometimes maybe even a special celebrity guest, to remind us all that kids don’t care who you are other than mom or dad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall theme of this podcast is happiness and lightheartedness, so I choose an upbeat piece of music that includes a ukelele and whistling to set that mood. I also included sound effects of a snack bag opening (because when aren’t kids eating?) and a fun child’s laugh to stir up a smile on the listeners’ faces. In this specific episode, we’re hearing a story about kids and dogs so I included a quick little dog bark later on in the opening. I heavily used the envelope tool in Audacity to tailor all the elements in my overall audio. I struggled with getting nice crip voice recordings because I lack a nice external microphone, so I spent a lot of time trying to smooth out some pops and varying levels of volume in my recorded tracks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
