Off the Beaten Path<\/em> is a monthly podcast produced by Angela Wylie that focuses on exploring out-of-the-way sites in the United States. Our goal is to get adventurous travelers away from the busy touristy locations and into the natural environment where they can experience the varied and stunning landscapes of the U.S. This episode is dedicated to Washington state’s Olympic Peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this podcast episode, I incorporated music, a voice-over, and one sound effect. I used the music track alone at the beginning to bring the listener into the podcast, and then as background to complement the voice-over. I chose a piece that is upbeat and fun to support the theme of the podcast. The music and voice-over provide an introduction to the episode, and after a pause the voice-over picks up to begin the episode with the sound effect of a ferry horn in the background, both of which fade at the end of the excerpt. For the poster, I chose a photo from Olympic National Park that depicts a winding path through the forest. It gives a sense of getting started on a new adventure, and not knowing where it might take you. It also represents the outdoorsy theme of the podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
