Synopsis:

In first-person narration, I am a battle-hardened warrior abruptly pulled from a war-torn battlefield into an enchanted realm brimming with ancient magic, beasts, and forgotten power. My only goal is to return home—until the path forward forces me into far more. As I wander through mystical ruins, battle otherworldly foes, and confront memories of my former life, visions of my wife stir a longing deeper than survival.

In my darkest moment, a divine presence grants me clarity and strength. With a renewed purpose, I rise—not just to fight, but to protect this realm from an ancient evil. A final clash awaits against a towering dragon. My journey began with chaos, but ends with transformation: I am no longer just a warrior, but a guardian reborn.

Fit Science

Rationale Behind the Designs

I wanted to explore the idea of a fitness and science podcast, bridging popular exercise trends with the research behind them. My goal is to create a podcast that inspires listeners to live healthier while explaining how fitness impacts our bodies.

The sound design captures the lively energy of fitness with sounds like heartbeats and pouring water, while upbeat background music keeps the vibe positive and engaging.

For the album art, I chose a vibrant image of someone enjoying a fitness activity. The bright colors and dynamic lines reflect strength and vitality, and the bold, modern text aligns with the podcast’s fresh approach. I hope it gets everyone excited about this journey!

Riding To Freedom

“A Man Riding a Horse in the Middle of a Field” by Cemrecan Yurtman on Unsplash

“Riding To Freedom” by Sinbad Adjuik, licensed under CC BY.

For Riding To Freedom, I was presented with a captivating image of a cowboy riding a horse against a breathtaking sunset backdrop. The original composition was a testament to the beauty of nature, yet I saw an opportunity to enhance it by focusing on the horse and rider and simplifying the background.
The original image was quite dynamic, but the subject was lost in the vastness of the background. There was a lot of empty space above the rider, and the horizon line felt too high. The background elements, while beautiful, detracted from the focus of the rider and horse in motion.
By cropping the image, I was able to bring the horse’s action and the rider’s silhouette into sharper focus, while also simplifying the background by removing excess sky. This adjustment allowed the dynamic elements of the image to stand out more, particularly the striking halo effect created by the sun behind the horse.
I also applied the rule of thirds, a fundamental principle in photography and design, to give the composition a more dynamic feel. Instead of centering the subject, I positioned the rider and horse off-center, along the imaginary lines that divide the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically. This technique makes the image more natural and less static, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

For this assignment, I knew I had to base it on my favorite dinosaur, so I chose an image of a Tyrannosaurus Rex from Dave Catchpole that perfectly captures the dinosaur’s fierce and powerful presence. To enhance this image, I paired it with the audio clip “dinosaur-roar.wav” by soundmast123, which adds an extra layer of intensity to the experience. The roar makes the image more dynamic and amplifies the feeling of being right next to this massive creature. Together, the image and audio transform what would have been just a visual into an immersive adventure; I imagine you’re in the Cretaceous, almost as if you’re standing in the path of this mighty apex predator. It is truly a sight to behold.

Byte-Sized Beginnings

Hello, everyone!
My name’s Sinbad Adjuik, and I’m here to take you on a quick trip through my journey from Ghana to Florida State University (FSU). Let’s call it “Byte-Sized Beginnings” because my story is rooted in technology and personal growth, and it’s not been without its challenges.
I spent a few years at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ghana as a Data Manager and IT Assistant. You know those jobs that make you wear a ton of hats? That was mine. From managing databases to troubleshooting tech glitches, I was always at the forefront of solving problems. That hands-on experience made me fall in love with user-focused tech solutions. It ignited a passion that continues to drive me today.
Fast forward to today, I’ve landed in Tallahassee, pursuing my MS in IT at FSU. It’s been a shift from campus in Ghana to the sunny streets of Florida(which is a relief because I can’t stand the cold). Still, my passion has stayed the same: finding ways to bridge the gap between people’s needs and what technology can offer. At Strozier Library, where I’m a Graduate Assistant, I’m sharpening my digital skills by diving into fascinating research projects. Libraries are like tech hubs in disguise, aren’t they?
Beyond work and school, I recharge with hobbies that keep my creativity flowing. I love 3D modeling there’s something magical about bringing digital designs to life. This hobby sharpens my technical skills and allows me to express my creativity. Gaming is another outlet, especially action RPGs (think strategy meets adventure). This helps me develop my problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. Oh, and if there’s a documentary on it, I’m watching it. The topic doesn’t matter; I’m always curious to learn something new. Fun fact: I wanted to be a vet as a kid due to my love for animals, but that gradually changed. I am still wondering why, but
My ultimate goal is to combine all these interests, tech, creativity, and storytelling, and build digital experiences that connect with people. Whether coding a project, creating digital content, or sharing what I’ve learned, I want to inspire and engage diverse audiences. I plan to achieve this by continuously learning, growing, and collaborating with like-minded individuals who share my passion for technology and creativity.
I’m thrilled and honored to be in this class with you all. I’m excited to see how we each bring unique stories and skills. Feel free to reach out on Instagram for a peek into my hobbies or on LinkedIn if you want to connect professionally. Here’s to learning, sharing, and growing together!
