They were once inseparable—laughing, sharing secrets, talking for hours. But then, she stopped replying. No explanation, just silence… and unanswered messages that slowly broke her heart.
Because some goodbyes are unspoken.

I personally created screen recordings of a Telegram chat that depicts a conversation between friends.

Beyond the Scenery: Cropping to Capture True Love

Images tell stories, and sometimes, just cropping an image can change the whole message. In this post, I’ll show how cropping improves the composition and highlights the emotions between couples more clearly.

“A man and a woman standing on top of a mountain” by The Chaffins on Unsplash

The original image, while visually interesting with beautiful nature, lacked a clear focal point. Unnecessary background elements diluted the impact of the image.

At first, I thought about cropping just their faces with shoulders to create a more intimate composition. However, as I examined the image further, I noticed the man’s hands gently hugging the woman’s waist, which significantly enhanced the romantic feeling between them. This small yet powerful detail transformed the image’s meaning. Instead of merely being a beautiful photoshoot in a breathtaking natural location, the crop shifts the focus toward the emotions shared between the couple. The new composition removes excess space, ensuring that their embrace becomes the focal point while still following the rule of thirds. By un-centering the subjects and simplifying the background, the revised image creates a deeper emotional connection. Now, for me, this picture is more about love rather than a “mandatory love story photoshoot between two people in a cool place.”

Motherhood: The Birth of a New Me

I have never thought I was strong enough. But when I delivered my daughter, I realized I wasn’t the woman she should see. That moment marked the beginning of my transformation.

This picture might show just a woman breastfeeding her baby, but for me, motherhood was much deeper. That’s why I attached this audio with motivational and inspirational music—it captures the mood I experienced. It was in that moment I knew things had to change. It was the moment I decided to change the world, starting with myself.

Before my daughter came into my life, I often doubted my strength and purpose. But holding her in my arms, I felt a surge of determination. I wanted to be someone she could look up to, someone who could teach her resilience, strength, and the importance of dreaming big. Motherhood wasn’t just about caring for her; it was about becoming the kind of person she deserved to see. It became a journey of rediscovering myself.

My transformation began with small steps, each one fueled by the love I had for my daughter and the responsibility I felt to set an example. I started my journey in sales a year ago, diving into a field I never imagined I’d enter. Sales taught me to listen, to understand people’s needs, and to communicate effectively—all skills I wanted to pass on to my daughter. It was more than a career; it was a path to personal growth.

This journey took an even bigger turn when I made the bold decision to pursue world-class education in the USA at Florida State University, over 7,000 miles away from my home country, Kazakhstan. But I didn’t leave my daughter behind. She’s here with me, thriving in daycare and already learning her third language. Together, we are embracing this adventure, proving that motherhood doesn’t limit dreams—it fuels them.

Motherhood gave me a second birth—a chance to redefine who I am and what I stand for. It taught me to be brave, to dream bigger, and to lead by example. I’m no longer just a woman navigating life; I’m a mother shaping a future, one step at a time. This journey isn’t just for me—it’s for her, for the dreams she’ll one day chase, and for the strength she’ll find in herself.

Motherhood isn’t the end of your story; it’s the beginning of a new one. It’s a chance to grow, to inspire, and to transform—not just for your children, but for yourself. And as I continue this journey, I carry with me the belief that by changing myself, I can change the world, one small step at a time.

Exploring New Horizons: My Journey in IT, Sales, and Beyond

Hi everyone! My name is Akerke Kuanysh, and I’m so excited to be part of this class. I’m an international graduate student from Kazakhstan, currently studying Information Technology at Florida State University. This is my first year at FSU and also my first year living in the USA. It’s been such an exciting and challenging journey!

Before coming to the USA, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and worked in IT. My work was mostly focused on technical tasks like programming and managing systems. I thought I would stay in IT forever, but life had other plans after I had my daughter. In Kazakhstan, maternity leave lasts up to three years (yes, three years!). I was planning to take a long break, but when my daughter was seven months old, something unexpected happened.

The company I used to work for—an educational organization that prepared students for international exams—was facing an emergency. All their salespeople were unavailable just before the start of a big flow of new groups. One salesperson went on maternity leave, another had a family emergency, and others faced serious health issues. Suddenly, they needed help, and even though I did not have experience in sales, I decided to give it a try. At least, I thought it was not so serious. I would be here for just a few days until they found a professional sales team.

The first day, I was nervous and only made three calls—but two people signed up! By the second day, six more students joined. I realized how much I loved talking to people, helping them find what they needed, and making a difference. Over time, I became a Sales Manager, and eventually, I was promoted to Sales Director. Within nine months, I helped the company increase sales by 155%. I also used my IT background to make processes more efficient, which taught me how much I enjoy combining IT and business.

That’s why, I decided to return to IT with another purpose since I wanted to bring together my technical skills and my passion for business. FSU’s IT program is perfect for me because it focuses on how technology can be applied to improve real-world challenges, like efficiency and customer satisfaction.

One class I’m particularly excited about is Digital Media: Concepts and Production. I hope to learn how to create engaging and effective digital content, which will help me in my current project: sharing information about studying in the USA with people back home in Kazakhstan. You can take a look at my content on Instagram. My goal for this course is learning how to create engaging and professional digital media content. A few days ago, I uploaded my first long video about my apartment in Tallahassee.

I’m really looking forward to learning from everyone in this class and sharing ideas. Let’s make this semester a great one!
