For this imagined podcast it would be a weekly video game update. What news happened this week or what games were featured in stories this week. Featuring new releases or updates from companies. This podcast would be a comedic or light hearted one focusing more on a more personal narrative of what elements stood out for that given week. For the sounds I wanted a quick but fun intro that sort of faded into the voices without being a long drawn out introduction. If it was a real full length podcast it would probably go for about 10ish seconds. “Blippy Trance by Kevin MacLeod was the best match that I was able to find that gave me the right vibe. For the sound effect I wanted something comedic but not too distracting. I think if it was a full length podcast there would be hardly any sound effects if any at all since that can be cheesy and give more shock jock vibes than podcast.

Hey Kyle great podcast intro! I enjoyed playing Pikmin when I was younger, and this really struck a note with me and probably would for others that have played the game. I found that the overall tone of the short podcast was a very lighthearted tone especially since you included the phrase “…your number 3 source for gaming news and updates” which is a great addition! The music used in the intro did give me a feeling of a digital/gamey environment which fit exactly what you were talking about. On your note about the use of sound effects, I would agree that it would take the listener away from what you were talking about and focus of what the sound effect was making the podcast sound more like a gimmick. The only suggestion is to decrease the volume of the background music sooner as you began to speak. Other than that, I think you did a great job!
Kyle,
I really liked the intro and sound effects that you used in your podcast. Your voice acting really helped to convey a sense of lightheartedness, and I enjoyed the humor that you embedded throughout the podcast (for example, when you said that the Nintendo direct was only “mostly” a disappointment. The trombone sound effect helped to convey that sense of humor as well and everything seemed to flow well together. I don’t have any suggestions for improvement. Well done.
